Kelly Clarkson was an American singer/songwriter that became the sweetheart of America after she won American Idol in the first series. The win was more than hugely successful, but it earned her a recording contract for several albums with RCA Records 19 Recordings & 'S Records. In the years since her debut her album, she's released several albums. From those, three made it to the top of the US Billboard 200. The other albums were also near the top. She's among the most popular artists that have come out of American Idol. When she was successful, she tried out different topics and styles of music, often writing her own songs to her own personal experiences. Because of her uniqueness and skill as a singer, she was praised by the media and received a number of notable awards. Most notably she has won Grammy Awards three times. Grammy Award three times. Aside from her career in music, she's also seen on TV and in film. She is also the author of her children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and has been involved with several charities.
